10 Days Uganda Primates Safari: This Uganda Primate Safari traverses the rich tropical forests of Uganda alongside a number of other national parks. The highlight of the trip is sharing a moment with the habituated Mountain Gorilla and habituated chimpanzee in their home, are both delightful creatures and words can not clearly explain the magical experience of watching them with in a few meters getting by their days duties.

Day 1: Arrival for our Uganda Primate Safari
Arrive at Entebbe international airport where a Journeys Uganda representative will be waiting to receive you and and help you through your arrival formalities. You will then be transferred to the hotel for checking in and depending on the time of arrival you could be briefed about your safari and have some money changed. Overnight at either The Lodge Lweza or Cassia Lodge for your stay. BB
After breakfast, transfer to Fort Portal with a stopover for lunch en-route. As we drive, there are a few stopover to view primates and most of then are at forest edges and corridors in between farm lands, these primates need your presence just as you need them. Once you pay up for a primate trip, you will contribute to their survival directly and indirectly, some to be seen today will include the Var vet, Black and White, Red Colobus, Blue Monkeys, Olive baboon some times the chimpanzee, to mention but a few. later arrive and Relax at your hotel in the afternoon. Overnight at either Mountains of the moon Hotel or Ataco County Resort. FB
After Breakfast we will head out to the park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking. there after will we be led into the the rich forest by ad experienced guide who will lead us to the chimpanzees. As we trek through the Forest watch out for other primates including l’hoest’s monkey, Uganda red colobus, blue, red tailed and gray cheeked mangabey. Enjoy the services of our guide who will give you detailed information on primates, forest, flora and fauna. Later in the Afternoon after we have had our lunch we will visit the Bigodi swamp, where we have a chance to encounter other mammals and primates including the rare red Columbus monkey and the sitatunga. The bird life in this swamp is amazing Overnight at either Mountains of the moon Hotel or Ataco County Resort. FB
Depart Fort Portal in the morning after breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the fable shadows of the mountains of the moon. watch-out for the beautiful scenery, lush green farms, and shadows of the peaks of Africa’s tallest mountain. Stopover at the Equator en-route for a few shots, before Proceeding to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. arrive in time for lunch and check in to the lodge, enjoy our lunch at the lodge and there after set out on a game drive you may encounter Elephants, buffaloes, bush bucks, water bucks, reed bucks, warthogs and if you are lucky enough the rare lions and leopards. Dinner and overnight at either Jacana Lodge or Marafiki Safari Lodge. FB
After an early Breakfast we’ll go for a morning game drive on the tracks or Kasenyi or the mweya peninsular. watch-out for the some of the members of the famous big five; Elephant, Buffaloes, Lions, Bush bucks, Uganda Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas, Water bucks and so many others that you may encounter. return to the lodge for a brief rest and lunch. later in the afternoon we’ll take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel and you will appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffaloes, and Crocodiles close to the waterside, if lucky we shall as well view the rare Leopard prowling. There is a variety of bird species especially the migratory species. Dinner and overnight at either Jacana Lodge or Marafiki Safari Lodge. FB
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest driving through the Kigezi Highlands populary known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa because of its lush green terraced hillside and winding roads. Pass through remote Ishasha popular for the tree climbing lions and on a lucky day we may spot one or a couple of them cooling off in the green branches. Arrive in Bwindi and check in to the Hotel. Overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp or Buhoma Community Rest Camp. FB
the long awaited day!! Today is the day we encounter the Mountain gorillas. Rise early to the melodious sounds of birds in the foggy forest. Enjoy an early breakfast before we head-out to the park headquarters. While at the park headquarters we will be briefed about the trek before taking on the mystical impenetrable forest that straddles the mountain. we will need walking sticks due to the thick undergrowth and the sky is barely visible. Trek up the steep dense rain forest through different trails crisscrossed by animals. Gorilla tracking is an inspiring and wonderful adventure which one can’t afford to miss. The Gorillas are and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact within a few meters. we are allowed an hour with them but it passes so fast as you are caught up in the beauty of these giants. return to the lodge and depending on the time and ability we could go for a community walk. Overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp or Buhoma Community Rest Camp. FB
After early morning breakfast depart towards the volcanic formations to Kisoro as you view the crater lakes and the beautiful scenery en route. we will arrive in time for lunch then an afternoon visit to the viewing platform at the main gate where spectacular views of the volcanoes; Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabinyo in their full splendor are apparent, Visit the unique Garama cave where the Batwa who are naturally hunters once lived. Dinner and Overnight stay at Travelers Rest Inn.
After an early breakfast, go for a briefing at the park headquarters; then go for the unique Golden Monkey tracking the activity is amazing and begins under the gaze of the imposing volcanoes. It is advisable to go along with a picnic lunch, drinking water, rain jacket and jungle boots, rangers will be able to provide you with a walking stick. There is no fixed time for seeing as it depends on the distance to where they are. they however like to stay in the bamboo part of the forest most of the time. Dinner and Overnight stay at Travelers Rest Inn.
After a morning breakfast, depart from the home of the endangered Mountain Gorillas of Uganda for Kampala, Lunch en route, reach Kampala in the late evening given the client’s will either spend a night in Kampala or proceed to the Airport. End of our Uganda Primate Safari.
