16 Days Uganda Hiking and Wildlife Safari takes you through the untamed beauty of Uganda, where rugged landscapes and diverse wildlife await your exploration. This thrilling adventure seamlessly combines the adrenaline rush of hiking with the excitement of encountering Africa’s iconic wildlife in their natural habitats.

Traverse the dramatic terrain of the Rwenzori Mountains, Africa’s tallest range, as you ascend through mist-shrouded forests and alpine meadows to reach breathtaking vistas. Along the way, encounter unique flora and fauna found nowhere else on earth, including the elusive Rwenzori turaco and towering lobelias.

Journey through the savannas of Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park, where vast plains teem with lions, elephants, and herds of antelope. Cruise along the Nile River to witness the thunderous cascade of Murchison Falls and marvel at the diversity of birdlife that thrives along its banks.

Day 1: Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park arriving in the afternoon. Game viewing on the way is very good; look out for hippos, elephants, buffalos and many other animals, seen grazing on the banks of the river. Overnight at a Luxurious Paraa Safari Lodge for two nights. [FB]

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

Game drive. View Elephants, Buffalos, Lions, Giraffes, oribi, Heartbeast, Reed, Water and Bush Buck. Launch cruise up to the substructure of the mighty Murchison falls where sinister water escapes from the narrow gorge, an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks enabling a wonderful birding safari and in the afternoon from the boat we hike to the top of the falls.

Day 3: Semliki Reserve

Depart by road for Semliki Wildlife Reserve. Night drive. This is the only place in Uganda where you can do a spot lit night drive in open jeeps. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge [FB].

Day 4: Semliki Feserve to Kasese

Depart to visit the Sempaya hot springs by taking a hike which leads from the road side tourist office to Sempaya Hot springs. Depart to Rwenzori. Overnight at Margherita Hotel, Kasese [FB].

Day 5: Mt. Rwenzori

Climb to Nyakalengija trail head [1600m]-Nyabitaba [2651m] 5-6 hours. Dinner and Overnight at Nyabitaba Hut for an overnight [FB].

Day 6: Rwenzori mountains

Nyabitaba [2651 m]-Guy Yeoman [3505m]. Meals and overnight at Guy Yeoman Hut [FB].

Day 7: Rwenzori Mountains

Guy Yeoman [3505]-Nyabitaba [2651m]-Nyakalengija 3hours. Dinner and overnight [FB].

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart to Queen Elizabeth. Afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge [FB].

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Chimpanzee trekking in Nyambura Gorge. After lunch, depart to Ishasha sector, famed for its tree-climbing lions. Overnight at Ishasha Wilderness Camp [FB]

Day 10: Mgahinga Gorilla Park

Depart for Mgahinga Gorilla Park. Overnight at Travelers Rest or Mount Gahinga Lodge for three nights [FB].

Day 11: Mgahinga Gorilla Park

Optional Gorilla Tracking in Mgahinga or hiking to one of the three volcanoes.

Day 12: Mgahinga Gorilla Park

Depart for a trip to the summit of Mt.Muhavura [4127m] [8hours]

Day 13: Mgahinga to Lake Bunyonyi

Depart to Lake Bunyonyi. It is a very scenic spot, dotted with. Overnight at Arcadia Cottage [FB].

Day 14: Lake Bunyonyi

Explore the area; maybe visit the bright and colorful local market at Kabale or take a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi it self. Overnight at Arcadia Cottages [FB].

Day 15: Jinja

Depart to Jinja passing coffee, Tea and Sugar plantations and the colorful roadside fruit/vegetable markets. Overnight at Jinja Nile Resort [FB].

Day 16: Jinja

Transfer to the spectacular Bujaagali Falls, for rafting. Visit “the Source of the Nile”, a historical site where some of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were scattered. Departure.
