Day 1: Arrival for our Primate Safari

Arrival at Entebbe Uganda International Airport where you will meet the Journeys Uganda safari Guide who will warmly welcome you. After a short transfer to your hotel you will be briefed about 8 Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimpanzees & Wildlife. Depending on the time of arrival, if your flight arrives in the morning, you are advised to have money changed this day and we recommend a city tour in Kampala the capital of Uganda, you can visit some of the landmarks in town with the help of our guide. Overnight stay at Cassia Lodge or Lake Victoria Serena. BB

Day 2: Transfer to the land of primates in Uganda

After a morning breakfast, transfer to Fort Portal through the countryside and pass traditional homesteads and farms. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled ‘Mountains of the Moon’. On some days as we transfer, there are chances of seeing some primate species like the Red colobus, Varvet monkeys, Black and White Collobus, Blue monkey and many more. Dinner and overnight stay at, Mountains of the Moon or Attaco Country Resort for two nights. FB

Day 3: Chimp tracking and other primates of Kibale

After breakfast we visit Kibale Forest National Park, which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in Uganda and perhaps the whole continent. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild habituated chimpanzees, coupled with other primates like the Uganda red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, Gray Cheeked Mongabey and many others. After lunch we can visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary or explore the Crater Lake region, which has many crater lakes. Later, sit back and relax as you let a traditional dancing group entertain you. Dinner and overnight stay at, Mountains of the Moon or Attaco Country Resort for two nights. FB

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth the 2nd biggest park in Uganda

After breakfast, we proceed to the second biggest park of Uganda – Queen Elizabeth following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. A game safari enroute is always rewarding. Later in the afternoon enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the natural Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This launch trip takes you to the highest concentration of hippos. This boat safari offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Dinner and overnight at  Jacana Safari Lodge or Marafiki Safari Lodge. FB

Day 5: Morning game safari and afternoon forest walk

This second largest park of Uganda has diverse and rich eco-systems of grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters which are home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. We try out an early morning Game drive where you have an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzoris, we also have excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, and bushbuck. These two game drives and the boat trip in this park are memorable way of discovering the wildlife of Uganda. After stretching our legs, we visit the bat cave and hunters cave where we take a close look at the bats. The same walk will provide a chance of seeing birds, primates, tree species etc. Dinner and overnight at  Jacana Safari Lodge or Marafiki Safari Lodge. FB

Day 6: Transfer to the Gorilla forest

Our primate safari takes us to Bwindi the home of the gorillas. We drive through the ‘Switzerland of Africa a terraced area in the Kigezi Highlands and winding roads to Bwindi through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth where you will have chances of seeing the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Mist Camp or Buhoma Community Bandas. FB

Day 7: Gorilla tracking day

Early morning breakfast and assembly at the starting point for a briefing. After this we start the hike in the gorilla sanctuary, which is a spectacular rainforest. It offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, Mammals recorded include the endangered Mt. Gorilla, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and others. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of the marvelous giant gorillas. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, tremendous and exciting escapade. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interrelate. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Mist Camp or Buhoma Community Bandas. FB

8: Drive from the gorilla sanctuary to Entebbe onwards.

After an early morning breakfast leisurely leave the gorilla forest and drive to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and at the various spots like the Equator, and Mpambire drum making center.
