Detailed Itinerary of the 10-day Luxury Safari in Uganda
Day 1: Arrival and an optional Sunset Cruise in Entebbe
Upon arrival at the airport for the 10-day Luxury Safari in Uganda, our professional guide from Journeys Uganda will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and transport you to your accommodation. Choose a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria, where you can enjoy the tranquil views of the lake as the sun sets, depending on when you arrive. Watch out for different bird species such as the Bat Hawk and Bare-faced Go Away Bird.

Day 2: Transfer Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park
Following breakfast, embark on a walking safari to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to get up close and personal with Uganda’s reintroduced white rhinoceros. You will visit the famous Murchison Falls, which gives Uganda’s largest national park its name, in the afternoon.

Day 3: Game Drive and exploration of the Nile
Following breakfast on day 3 of the 10-day Luxury Safari in Uganda, take a boat excursion to the Nile Delta, which offers an extensive variety of wildlife and bird-watching opportunities, including the potential to see the endangered Shoebill Stork. A game drive over the African savannah to Lake Albert, where you can see a variety of animals and bird species, awaits after a bush breakfast on the banks of the Nile. In the afternoon, take a private boat cruise up the Nile to Murchison Falls, where you may admire the spectacular cascades and possibly see Nile crocodiles downstream.
Day 4: Explore Murchison Falls and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Experience the views of the falls from above and below this morning. After that, take a plane from Bugungu Airstrip to Kasese Airstrip, where you will meet your guide and proceed to Kibale Forest National Park amidst picturesque tea plantations. At elevations between 1,100 and 1,600 meters, the park in Western Uganda offers a variety of environments.

Day 5: Chimp Habituation Experience and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

The park traverses the equator and has a variety of habitats, including lowland woods and foothills punctuated with craters. Enjoy a game drive in the park in the evening to discover its wildlife and beautiful scenery.

Day 7: Game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel
Experience an early-morning wildlife drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is home to more than 100 mammal species, such as forest hogs, lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopards, and elephants. The primate population, which includes chimps, colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons, is equally remarkable. Cruise on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon in a comfortable private boat. You will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Morning Game Drive in Ishasha sector and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On this day of the 10-day Luxury Safari in Uganda, enjoy a game drive in the Ishasha Sector in the morning to observe lions that climb trees before heading to the home of the mountain gorillas. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is famous for gorilla trekking and is home to 23 bird species that are unique to the Albertine region such as the Rwenzori Turaco and Grauer’s Reed Warbler, as well as elephants, chimpanzees, monkeys, and numerous antelope species.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Get up early this morning to embark on one of the most exhilarating wildlife experiences: hiking while tracking mountain gorillas. The journey, which may take two to six hours and is led by an experienced ranger and guide, offers amazing rewards as you learn about the amazing gorillas’ flora, fauna, and fascinating way of life. You will be briefed early in the morning about the do’s and don’ts of this exciting activity. You are also advised to hire a porter in case of extra luggage. After the gorilla trekking experience, which comes with a certificate, you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: Fly back to Entebbe International Airport for departure
Following breakfast on the last day of the 10-day Luxury Safari in Uganda, you will travel to Kihihi Airstrip and return to Entebbe, taking in the stunning aerial views of southwestern Uganda, the hills, and dense foliage. Once you arrive in Entebbe, you will connect to your flight back home.
