The 3-day Gorilla Habituation Bwindi Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park promises an unforgettable encounter with Uganda Mountain Gorillas. The park is home to half of the world’s remaining population. The major activities to be carried out include Gorilla habituation and a Batwa cultural Safari. Gorilla Habituation is a unique tourist activity only carried out in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This activity involves getting Gorillas used to the presence of human beings Other attractions in the park for you not to miss out include over 346 species of birds, over 200 species of butterflies and 324 tree species including 10 which cannot be found anywhere.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by road to start your 3-day gorilla habituation safari.. Along the way, enjoy scenic views and a stopover at the Equator for photography and interesting information about this imaginary line. Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park settle in and prepare for the gorilla habituation experience.

Day: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today, you will spend a full day exploring the Mountain Gorilla habitat. Unlike standard gorilla trekking tours that involve spending only one hour with the gorillas, Gorilla habituation allows for a maximum of four hours of magical encounters with these gentle giants. Participate in their training, familiarising them with human presence and monitoring their traits. On the whole witness, the daily lives of the world’s greatest apes up close which is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After this strenuous and rewarding experience, you will be transferred to your Eco-lodge for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Batwa Cultural walk and departure.

After morning breakfast, we shall embark on a captivating journey into the heritage and traditions of the Batwa pygmies who were once the forest keepers. The Batwa have existed in central African forests for over 60000 years. This group of people survived by hunting and gathering fruits and vegetables but were displaced after the park was declared in 1992. During this cultural experience, expect to see through the eyes of the original forest dwellers, learn how they hunted small animals, gathered fruits, grass-thatched houses and sample traditional meals prepared by Batwa women, listen to their ancient stories and enjoy their traditional performances. Finally, interact with the medicine men who treat ailments using herbs. After lunch, you shall be transferred back to Kampala or Entebbe for departure or end your 3-day Gorilla Habituation Bwindi Safari..
