Day 1: Entebbe Botanical Gardens
On your 3 Days Entebbe City Tour and Ngamba Chimpanzee Island, explore the tranquil Entebbe Botanical Gardens, home to a wide variety of plant and bird species. Uganda has a single national botanical garden. This 1901 company is only 34 kilometres from Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and is on the edge of Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa. Because the gardens skillfully combine horticulture, farming, and natural woods, they are a highly sought-after location for birdwatchers. Entebbe Botanical Gardens, commonly known as the National Botanical Gardens, is a captivating haven for avian enthusiasts. These gardens are a favourite among bird enthusiasts because they ideally offer a harmonious blend of horticultural riches, natural forests, and man-made landscapes.
The Entebbe Botanical Gardens is home to a variety of bird species, and among the birds to see in Entebbe include the Vieillot’s Black Weaver, which breeds in the shrubs around Lake Victoria’s shoreline, and the Slender-billed Northern Brown-throated, Golden-backed, Black-headed, and Village Weavers. The rocky headland of the Lake makes for an ideal observation location. Search for the following species on the lake and its shoreline: Yellow-billed Duck, African Open-billed Stork, Grey-headed Gulls, Giant and Pied Kingfishers, Swamp Flycatcher, Spur-winged Lapwing, long-tailed Cormorant, Striated and Black-headed Herons.
Day 2: Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) and Entebbe Reptile Village
On your 3 Days Entebbe City Tour and Ngamba Chimpanzee Island, visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre and you will undoubtedly see a variety of wild animals in captivity or cage, including primates, reptiles like snakes and Crocodiles, Buffalo, Leopard, Tiger, Lion, Cheetah, Civet cat, Giraffe, Waterbuck, and Sitatunga, as well as some birds like the endangered Shoebill Stork. After eating lunch and relaxing, spend the afternoon at Entebbe Reptile Village, home to a variety of snake species like as cobras, black mambas, pythons, and puff adders. A crocodile, monitor lizards, an open trench for many tortoises, and a specific mesh-enclosed tree for five chameleons are also present. You will be led to our visitor’s centre upon arriving at the sanctuary, where you will learn about the initiative, its background, our inmates, and their predicament. You will witness chimpanzees feeding from the visitors’ elevated platform area along the sanctuary fence on both of the two types of day visits, and you will receive a personal orientation from a chimpanzee carer. There are several bird species, monitor lizards, and photo ops among the other animals to be observed. Our boats depart at either 9:00 am or 12:45 pm, and we can arrange half-day or full-day outings. A tour with a guided walk around the magnificent Ngamba Island is offered and after return to Entebbe to your hotel or at the Airport for your return Flight.
