A Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Kampala-Murchison Falls National Park
On your 8-day Uganda Wildlife Safari, after your early morning breakfast, embark on a breathtaking drive via the well-known Luweero Triangle in the northwest and go through the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Masindi. It is essential to begin Rhino trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can see the endangered white rhinos in their natural habitat. Make your way to Murchison Falls National Park by car after lunch. Spend the night and dine at Paara Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
After having your breakfast, head to the northern section of the park for an early morning game drive. Among the animals your driver guide will help you see are the Rothschild’s giraffe, the Cape Buffalo, the Lion, the Leopard, the Elephant, the Waterbuck, the Bushbuck, the Oribi, and the Bohor reedbuck. For lunch and breakfast, head back to the hotel. Take a boat safari upstream the serene Victoria Nile after lunch to the base of the falls, stopping a short distance from the “Devil’s Cauldron.” Marvel at the ferocious hippos and crocodiles while travelling; along this 17-kilometer stretch, you might also spot elephants, waterbucks, and Nile crocodiles.
During your 8 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari, a number of bird species are also likely to be spotted, including the endangered Shoebill Stork, African Darter, Egyptian Goose, African Fish Eagle, Pelican Bee-eater, Rock Pratincole, Giant Kingfisher, Hornbills, and Cormorant. Following your hour-long trek atop the falls, you will disembark from the boat. Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast before making your way to Kibale Forest National Park, which is located in the southern part of the park. You will travel through lush countryside, passing by traditional homesteads and farms along the escarpments of the Albertine Rift, towards Fort Portal via Hoima. The legendary Mountains of the Moon cast a shadow above Fort-Portal. Overnight stay and meals at Guereza Canopy Lodge’s Chimpanzee Forest Lodge.
Day 4: Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast in the morning, your driver guide will take you to the park headquarters, where you will get briefed about the procedures of trekking Chimpanzees. The greatest reserve in Africa to see chimpanzees is Kibale, known as “the primate capital of the world,” and it features a dense forest with a tall canopy. Drive into Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon, stopping along the way to see wildlife such as Elephants take in the scenery. Dinner and lodging at Buffalo Safari Lodge for the night.
On your 8-day Uganda Wildlife Safari, take an early morning breakfast, and then your driver guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the procedures taken during chimpanzee trekking. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimpanzees, “the primate capital of the world,” a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, sightseeing and game viewing en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Buffalo Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start the day off with a cup of coffee. Expect to see Elephants, Buffalo, waterbucks, Warthogs, Lions, Kobs, and other bird species during an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile. For lunch and breakfast, head back to the lodge. After lunch, it is recommended to take a two-hour boat ride down the well-known Kazinga Channel to witness wildlife such as warthogs, Buffalo, Kobs, Elephants, and Hippopotamuses. Visitors can also witness amazing species on this journey, like the African White-backed Vulture, African Greeb Pigeon, Martial Eagle, Secretary Bird, Red-chested Sunbird, Great Blue Turaco, and many more. Dinner at Buffalo Safari Lodge and overnight stay. Three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast in the morning, take a morning game drive in the Ishasha sector of the park’s southern section to see the renowned tree-climbing lions—a unique experience that you will not find anywhere else. Once you have finished your meal, get ready for a boat ride on Kazinga Channel, the natural channel that links Lake George and Lake Edward. In addition to a variety of bird species such the Pied Kingfisher, Saddle-billed Stork, African Fish Eagle, Goliath Heron, and Buffalo, expect to witness elephants, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles. After that, go on an evening game drive to look for nocturnal animals, among other things. After supper, make your way back to the Lodge for the night.
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Following your 8 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari, have an early morning breakfast and then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest but most rewarding Parks because of its wide variety of wildlife. During a mid-morning game drive, you can witness stunning Zebras, Impalas, Giraffes, Elands, Topi, Buffaloes and bird species such as the Handsome Francolin, Bare-faced go-away bird, Red-faced Barbet, Papyrus Gonolek, Purple Gallinule, Temminck’s Courser, Red-chested Sunbird, among others. Have lunch, and then you will go for a boat cruise where you will not miss out on Hippos, Buffaloes and water bird species like African Jacana, African Fish Eagle, Great Egret, Grey Heron, Lesser Jacana among others. Have Dinner and over overnight stay at Rwakobo Rock Safari lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala/ Entebbe Airport
In order to get a close-up, look at and interpretation of nature up close, go on an early morning nature walk with a ranger guide after breakfast. You will see Zebras, Giraffes, Buffalos, Elands, Impalas, and a variety of bird species, including Papyrus Gonolek, Kori Bustard, Red-chested Sunbird, Crested Francolin, Rufous-naped Lark, Red-winged Francolin, and others. After that, set off to return to Entebbe or Kampala in order to meet your return flight.
