The common Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are home to these golden monkeys. Following this brief introduction, you will begin your ascent on foot to find the golden monkeys. The hike might be challenging at certain places, therefore, having a porter is advised. They will be useful. Enforcement personnel will accompany you to provide assistance in the event that you come across dangerous wild Buffaloes or Forest Elephants. Day 4: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park-Batwa Trail
On your 5 days Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey, and Batwa Trail Safari, before the Virunga volcanoes were transformed into national parks to aid in the conservation of gorillas, golden monkeys, and other wildlife and flora, the Batwa are an indigenous tribe that lived in the forests and relied on them for their subsistence. They were living alongside this fauna as hunter-gatherers. You will meet some of the Batwa people today, and they will take you around the forest while explaining how they survived animal attacks. This tour will take you down the “Batwa trail,” which was created in collaboration with the Uganda Wildlife Authority to share their experience on how they co-existed with wildlife and raised their families in the jungle. This generates income that goes into a fund to purchase land and construct homes for the many Batwa households. Additionally, they will convey their knowledge of how they reared their children in this bush and coexisted with animals.
