Detailed Itinerary of the 3-day Akagera National Park, Rwanda
Day 1: Pick up – Visit Genocide Museum – Transfer to Akagera National Park
On this day, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide from Kigali International Airport or your booked hotel. He will take you to the Kigali Genocide Museum to witness the remains of the Rwanda genocide of 1944. Later, you will head out for lunch before starting your journey to Akagera National Park, where you will arrive in the evening, check into your booked lodge, and wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive in Akagera National Park—Boat Cruise at Lake Ihema
Following your 3-day Akagera National Park, Rwanda, rise early in the morning, enjoy breakfast, and drive to Akagera National Park, where you will have a morning game drive. Akagera is the only park in Rwanda where game drives are done. You will be able to encounter all 5 mammals, namely lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. You will also have opportunities to spot zebras, giraffes, spotted hyenas, and several antelope species. After the activity, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch, and later in the afternoon, you will head to Lake Ihema, where you will take part in the boat cruise activities to see aquatic animals and water birds. Return to the lodge, wait for dinner, and have an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive in Akagera National Park—transfer to Kigali
Today, you will check out of the rooms with all your travel bags, head for breakfast, and meet your driver guide to drive you to Akagera National Park for a morning game drive. This game drive will give you an opportunity to spot different wildlife species recorded here, including those that you could have missed on the previous day.
