Detailed Itinerary of the Tanzania Short Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha-Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a Journeys Uganda representative who will take you for lunch at a local restaurant in Arusha. In the afternoon, you will embark on a 5-6 hour drive to Serengeti National Park. By evening time, you will be arriving in Serengeti National Park and be transferred to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Serengeti Full-day Game Drive
After breakfast on this day of the Tanzania Short Wildlife Safari, you will embark on a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Expect to encounter several wildlife species, such as lions, elusive leopards, and hyenas, and numerous bird species, such as Lilac-breasted Roller and Grey-crowned Cranes. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park by midday and later continue on an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park. Watch out for the “Big Five,” which include lions, African elephants, rhinos, African buffalo, and leopards. If your visit to the Serengeti is between June and November, you will be able to witness a natural wildlife spectacle, which is the “Great Migration.”
You will later be transferred back to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Note: You can engage in an optional night game drive in the park. This activity allows visitors to explore and observe nocturnal wildlife species.

Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha
On this final day of our Tanzania Short Wildlife Safari, you will have an early morning breakfast and be transferred to Ngorongoro Crater, which is a 3-4 hour drive from Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival at around midday, you will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, known for its geological wonders and diverse wildlife species. The crater is often referred to as the natural zoo. You have a picnic lunch in the crater amidst a variety of wildlife species and breathtaking landscapes.
You will then embark on an afternoon game drive in the park, which will give you another opportunity to explore the “Big Five.”
In the late evening, you will make your return journey to Arusha either to your hotel or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure. This will mark the end of the Tanzania Short Wildlife Safari.
