Day 1: Transfer To Lake Mburo National Park

Early morning you will meet your driver Guide from Journeys Uganda who will shortly brief you about your safari before heating the road west of Uganda to Lake Mburo National Park. The approximately 4 hours drive has a lot of scenery lined up for you with a stopover at the Equator where you can take photos standing in two hemispheres at the same time as well as buy some artifacts. Enjoy the warmth of the local people who constantly wave at you from the roadsides before finally arriving in Lake Mburo National park check into the hotel and depending on the time of arrival you could relax at the lodge before taking on an evening nature walk to the salt lick area where animals spend a lot of time licking the ground because its salty. For birder watch out for lots of colorful birds that color the skies and tree of this savanna area. Overnight at either Mantana Tented camp or Rwakobo Rock or Eagles Nest lodge FB

Day 2: Explore Lake Mburo National Park

Rise to the sweet melodies of the birds and have breakfast before setting off for an early morning game drive. Take on the rugged tracks that snake through the park as we watch out for large herds of Burchell’s Zebras, impalas, topis, buffalos, elands and the recently introduced Roth’s child Giraffes. Birds are plentiful for the twichers with about 313 bird species recorded here including White-winged Warbler, Crested Francolin, Red-Faced Barbet, Tabora Cisticola, and the Brown Chested Intra African migrating Plover among others. Retire for Lunch and possibly a little rest before taking on the afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. On a lucky day you may catch the highly sought after yet rare shoebill , large hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun along with other animals that come to quench their afternoon thirst. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, dinner and overnight Mantana Tented camp or Rwakobo Rock or Mburo Safari lodge FB
