Detailed Itinerary of the 3-day Fly-in Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda
Day 1: Travel by plane to Mgahinga Park or Bwindi Forest for a gorilla trekking expedition.
Proceed to the airport to take a flight to the Kihihi or Kisoro airstrips, where you will be met and taken to your lodge. As most planes depart early, you can spend time at the lodge reading or relaxing, or you can go for a stroll across the neighbourhood.
Day 2: Trekking Mountain gorillas in Uganda
At eight in the morning, your driver guide will come and get you from the resort and take you to the briefing location where your gorilla trek will begin. When you arrive at the briefing location, you will be greeted and seated until the briefing begins, during which your driving guide will register you with the on-duty ranger so that you can be assigned to a gorilla family. Eventually, you will get to meet your ranger guide and begin your gorilla journey in the Bwindi rainforests.

Day 3: Departure – Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

Advice While going on a 3-day Fly-in Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda
- Because mountain gorillas can nest far away, it’s best to take it slow and be hydrated.
- It is not permitted to eat, drink, or smoke close to the gorillas; a certain time and location will be announced.
- Since Bwindi is a tropical jungle, you should always have a rain poncho with you.
- Hiking boots or waterproof walking shoes are a must. gloves to avoid stinging plants
- When in the forest, wear long sleeves and trousers to protect yourself from bug stings.
- You can take pictures, but you can’t use flash.
- For a modest fee, porters can assist you with carrying your daypack.
