Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary-Murchison Falls National Park
Following breakfast, you will spend roughly five to six hours driving to Murchison Falls National Park. Travelling through the Luwero and Nakasongola regions offers a stunning perspective of the flat landscapes of central Uganda. After 7 kilometres, you will split off at Nakitooma and connect to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Once you have reached Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will go on an exciting white rhino tracking adventure with over 22 southern white rhinos. The rhino is among the big five African creatures and is considered one of the deadliest on African soil. However, it is still worthwhile to explore rhinos on foot. Later, proceed to Murchison and arrive at Pakuba Safari Lodge in the evening for some downtime, dinner, and sleeping.
Day 2: Early Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Have your early morning breakfast, and then embark on the early morning break fast, where You will see a variety of animal species on your game drive in the northern section of Murchison Falls National Park. These include the big four African mammals—the Lion, Leopard, Elephant, and Buffalo. Other species to see include Giraffes, Kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Water bucks, and primates like the endangered Patas monkey, Olive Baboons, and Bush bucks. After this enchanted encounter, make your way to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, take a boat ride across the Victoria Nile delta to the base of the falls, leaving from Paraa at 2:00 p.m. It is more likely that you may witness aquatic species like Crocodiles, Monitor lizards, Hippos, and swimming Elephants as well as water birds such as African Fish Eagle, African Darter, Goliath Heron, Rock Platincole, and African Skimmer, among others. Return from your boat ride and connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Drive to the Top of the Falls and, after return to Kampala / Entebbe International Airport
After breakfast in the morning, transfer to the top of the falls, one of the most impressive landforms on the Nile River on its journey to the Mediterranean Sea. The Murchison Falls are regarded as the world’s most forceful waterfall. This is an extremely impressive place to see the Nile River, which forms a trademark rain bow and spray plume as it squeezes through a tiny 7-meter canyon before dropping 45 metres to what is known as the Devil’s Cauldron. Return to Kampala after an enchanted encounter with the vistas of the River Kafu along the way to cap off an unparalleled experience provided by Murchison Falls National Park.
