Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali airport or hotel in Kigali and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After that, you will be transferred to the hotel for breakfast before continuing on to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Situated near the borders of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, this park is part of the Conservation Area of the Virunga Mountains in southwest Uganda. Drive directly to your reserved lodge after you arrive at the park, check in and eat lunch. If you are picked up early in the morning, you will first embark on a tour of Kigali’s capital to see historical buildings and other significant locations, like the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site and the local market vendors, before moving to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Enjoy lunch and dinner at the Travellers Rest Hotel

Day 2: Uganda Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kigali

Proceed to the park headquarters at the information centre after breakfast, where you will meet up with other visitors to receive pre-trekking training regarding the protocols to be followed during the mountain gorilla trekking exercise. Following the start of your guided forest trek to look for mountain gorillas with ranger guides from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. As you make your way through the verdant jungle, you can come across additional wildlife species, such as primates like Golden Monkeys and Black and White Colobus Monkeys, as well as Albertine Rift Endemics like Shelly’s Crimsonwing, Narina Trogon, and Rwenzori Apalis.
